IDEA (Inventions Deliver Endless Advancement) is a pre-order platform operated by 3D-LABS, Trichy, India. The platform allows inventors and creators to list their products for pre-order and advance booking by backers.
By using IDEA, you acknowledge that all transactions are product reservations only and do not constitute investment activity of any kind.
IDEA operates on a two-payment pre-order model:
- Pre-Order: Buyer pays 10% upfront to reserve the product at a fixed price. Remaining 90% is paid on delivery.
- Advance Booking: Buyer pays 5% to reserve a slot. Final price may change before delivery based on manufacturing costs.
Platform fees of 4% are deducted internally from each payment. Buyers pay the exact listed product price with no additional charges.
To use IDEA as a creator or backer, you must register an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account access
Accounts may be suspended or terminated if found to be in violation of these terms, providing false information, or engaging in fraudulent activity.
Creators listing products on IDEA agree to the following:
- Only list products they genuinely intend to manufacture and deliver
- Provide accurate product descriptions, pricing, and expected delivery timelines
- Set minimum expected delivery dates of at least 2 years from listing
- Notify backers promptly of any significant changes to product specifications or timelines
- Issue full refunds to all backers if the project is cancelled or cannot be delivered
- Provide bank details for receiving payouts via the platform
Buyers (backers) placing pre-orders on IDEA agree to:
- Provide accurate delivery address and contact information at time of purchase
- Pay the balance amount when notified by the platform upon delivery
- Acknowledge that pre-orders are product reservations, not investments
- Understand that advance booking prices may change before delivery
Buyers who do not pay the balance amount when requested may forfeit their reservation without refund of the booking fee (for advance bookings only).
All payments on IDEA are processed securely via Cashfree Payment Gateway. The platform fee structure is as follows:
- Platform fee: 4% deducted from each payment received
- Creator receives: 96% of each payment
- Fee applies to both upfront and balance payments
- Buyers pay exact listed price — no surcharges or hidden fees
Creator payouts are transferred manually via NEFT/IMPS/UPI within 2–3 business days of payment confirmation. Creators must set up valid bank details to receive payouts.
Creators retain full ownership of their inventions, designs, and intellectual property listed on IDEA. By listing on the platform, creators grant IDEA a non-exclusive license to display their content for marketing purposes.
The IDEA platform, its design, code, and branding are the property of 3D-Labs. Unauthorized reproduction or use is prohibited.
Users must not upload content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights. Infringing content will be removed and accounts may be suspended.
The following are strictly prohibited on IDEA Platform:
- Listing fake, non-existent, or fraudulent products
- Misrepresenting product capabilities, timelines, or specifications
- Using the platform for investment solicitation of any kind
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
- Attempting to hack, exploit, or disrupt platform services
- Uploading harmful, offensive, or illegal content
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, cancellation of all orders, and legal action where applicable.
3D-LABS and IDEA Platform are not liable for:
- Creator failure to deliver products
- Changes in product specifications or pricing by creators
- Delays in delivery beyond estimated timelines
- Any financial loss arising from pre-order participation
The platform serves as a marketplace intermediary only. All disputes regarding product delivery must be resolved directly between the buyer and creator.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from use of the IDEA Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
